When creating Flip's Story books our main objective was to combine simple WORD FAMILIES with illustrations and characters that young readers can identify with. These stories hold their interest so they can retain content. By creating stories that are made up of words from the same word family (such as hot, pot, dot, not) children will easily see and comprehend that:
"words are made up of sounds... and if you change
a sound you can change a word..."
The more sounds a child learns, the more words a child can read.
THIS IS NOT WORD MEMORIZATION!
By learning phonetic sounds, your reader will have ALL the skills needed to build the most complex words and be successful throughout school.
Flipping for Phonics reading books are compatible with the Flipping For Phonics Tool. Children can practice the sound groups that are referenced in our flip book. The Flipping for Phonics Tool forms over 2,000 words!
